chassis number of Vale special 1933

Thursday, 24 November 2016

Hello, dear Vale owners,

I bought a 1933 Vale special by auction (Coys) and I am searching
the chassis number on the chassis frame.
Can anyone help with this?

Frank Sauerwald

editor: under which number is the chassis registered? Many cars liuke that and of the period had no chassis number and were registered with their engine number.

Where to find earlier editions of "PWC Workshop" ?

Wednesday, 02 November 2016

This feature is excellent, and I read every new instalment with interest.

However, when I sometimes want to check an old issue, I find it difficult to search for it.

Would it not be possible to add a specific "PWC Workshop" line to the "Magazine" Scroll down menu? This would make it so much easier!

Thank you for the good work!

Sébastien Simon

Hello Sebastien,

Thanks for asking. In the new website that we are building currently this will be much easier.
However if you look at the homepage you see a Searchbox. You can enter   PWC Workshop  there and find all the stories easily.

Check/Click this !

J.P.Cotte car clock

Tuesday, 04 October 2016

J.P.Cotte has shown a photo of an 8 day car clock in the pages of you august magazine and asks for some idea of it's history. All I can tell him is that OCTOMAS is one of a large number of trade names used by Schild & Co. of La Chaux-de-Fonds. Along with OCTAVA, OCTODI & ORATOR. Schild & Co. must have more trade marks registered than any other manufacturer in Switzerland. My reference source is Swiss Timepiece Makers 1775- 1975 by Kathleen H. Pritchard vol 2.

Tuesday, 16 August 2016

We received message from Eunice Jeal, the life companion
of the recently deceased Malcolm Jeal.

She asked us to post a Thank You for all the tributes to Malcolm from various societies and clubs and people that came in over the last weeks which have been very difficult for her.

"I have been overwhelmed by the cards, letters and emails I have received and it is not possible to reply to them individually.

Thank you very much,

Best wishes
