Riley 1899 - 1969: After some prototypes and tricars, the first real production Riley car appeared in 1905. The cars got a good reputation and became more sporty during the 1920s. Many body options were offered. Riley engines formed basis for those of the ERA racing cars. A V-8 model was sold as the Autovia. In 1938 the company was incorporated by the Nuffield Organization.
