Coachbuilt Porsche 914/6 is still a stunner

Coachbuilt Porsche 914/6 is still a stunner
When you are in Strasbourg today and planning to enter Osenat’s sale with the idea to drive home one of the cars they have on offer, you can go for a Porsche 914. It’s a two-litre version in a very period colour. Nothing wrong with it, it seems. Other than it’s just a 914, like so many others.

But the choice is yours. You can also choose for a significantly more interesting piece of Porsche 914 heritage. The one and only Porsche Murene, or 914/6 Heuliez that was built in 1969 by the French coachbuilder to be precise. Yes, it’s considerably more expensive. But, hey, it’s considerably more interesting, too.

Its build was covered throughout in words and pictures
Some famous names were involved with its design
It was a star on the Paris Motor Show
It was on display with a lovely lady
When it got out the ladies adored it, too
It made it to a plethora of magazines in its day
And it still does finds its way to magazines today
It made it to a lovely scale model

Repainted in 1971, it remains in its original condition and comes with fully documented history.

Just don’t say it’s ugly.
