Oily rag Delahaye
Hi
I was recently out working in one of our Citroën Traction Avants, and saw this beauty parked in a public car park. I have never seen an oily rag Delahaye before, but after seeing this car in all its honesty I think it's a huge pity there arent more of them.

Two fun period Hawaiian Pictures

Friday, 23 June 2017

Two fun period Hawaiian PicturesI spotted thes two pictures from the early days on a Hawaiian Historical Society photo series. I asked a friend who is a resident and native Hawaiian for her take on these photos.....here is what she had to say:
What cool photos!  Love's Bakery is still in existence.  It's based in Honolulu (island of Oahu), but distributes products throughout all the islands.
The 2nd photo indicates "Lihue Store" on the car.  Lihue is on the island of Kauai so I'm not familiar with that store.  However, looking at the store window behind, it shows Schuman Carriage which is an auto dealership on Oahu.
Also, if you enlarge the photo, you'll see a street sign on the upper left side.  It says "Merchant".  There is a Merchant St. in downtown Honolulu, so I'm guessing this photo was also taken in Honolulu.
Love the cars!  :)   Thanks for sharing!
Aloha,
Kathleen

Military Issue Clock

Sunday, 14 May 2017

Military Issue ClockDoes anyone know what these were fitted to.?   A/l\D is R.N.A.S. isuue WW1 and Birch&Gydon supplied many items to the Military.
It is in an Aluminium bayonet case for dash mounting and has the Time of trip extra dial.
Would be nice to know for sure what it's original use was....will look good in an early car anyway.
