Volvo makes Smitsonian Museum a safer place!

It was August 1959 when Volvo delivered three point safety belts as standard equipment  for all their cars.  Looking back this was a major breakthrough for safety on the road for millions and millions worldwide. So it's not suprising that was invited to donate an early specimen of the belt for exposition in  the Smitsonian National Museum of American History to add to the collection of 75 Years of Auto Safety. Not many of you will know that we buckle up daily with the invention of Nils Bohlin (photo courtesy Volvo Cars)
