A rare 1951 VW Pretzel Standard Saloon is on offer.
The ownership history can be traced back to 1998, when the Beetle was registered in the Netherlands. In 2013, it came to Germany and was acquired by the owner of a classic car workshop. He had to part with the VW for health reasons.
The car is registered and has a TÜV and H certificate. A ‘birth certificate’ from VW is also available. According to this, the car was delivered to Brussels in 1951.
There is an invoice from 2009 for a gearbox overhaul. In 2014, the interior was refurbished (material costs invoiced at €1,787). The engine number ends with an ‘X’, which means it is an original replacement engine from Volkswagen. The engine has the code letter ‘D’. This model was built from 1965 onwards and has a 1.2-litre engine with a solid 34 hp. ‘In the 1950s, Volkswagen drivers who had driven more than 100,000 km with their first engine received an engraved clock from VW as a reward. There were badges for the interior and exterior of the car.’ That is unimaginable today.
The engine compartment is very clean and the engine runs very smoothly.
The grey ‘standard model’ is probably rarer today than the ‘export version’.

The car comes with German vehicle documents, the ‘birth certificate’ from VW, TÜV (04/26) and the H certificate.
