Introduced in 1972, the Suzuki GT550 was the middle model in Suzuki’s acclaimed Grand Touring range, sitting between the GT380 and GT750. Known as the “Indy” in North America, it took its name from the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway.Powered by a 543cc air-cooled, three-cylinder two-stroke engine, the GT550 offered a blend of strong performance, smooth power delivery and long-distance comfort. Featuring Suzuki’s proven CCI oil-injection system, it earned a reputation for reliability and usability, making it one of the most versatile Japanese motorcycles of its era.
This UK-supplied 1976 example has covered 43,626 miles and benefits from a professional engine overhaul, including a fully rebuilt crankshaft, with invoices on file supporting the work undertaken. Equipped with both electric and kick start, the motorcycle is reported to run and ride well and has been ridden recently. An increasingly collectible classic from the golden age of Japanese two-stroke motorcycling. Consigned by Mathew Priddy
