The Jaguar XJ (X351) is a saloon car built by Jaguar Cars from 2010 to 2019. It is the fourth generation of the Jaguar XJ model. Referred to internally within Jaguar as the X351, it was announced in 2009 before going on sale in 2010 and combines revised styling with underpinnings of the previous Jaguar X350 generation. The model was discontinued in 2019. It is the final generation of the XJ, after the electric Jaguar XJ was cancelled in February 2021. Jaguar invited Jay Leno to unveil the new XJ during the launch at the Saatchi Gallery in London on 9th July 2009. The event was broadcast live on the Jaguar website and the US model was unveiled at the 2009 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Production was initially only carried out at the Castle Bromwich Assembly plant in Birmingham, England. The XJ was designed at Jaguar Land Rover's Whitley plant in Coventry by a team led by design director Ian Callum. Design work began in 2005, with final design approval taking place in November 2006 and the design being frozen in the first half of 2008. The new design is a complete departure from any earlier XJ model; mechanically, the car is a development of its predecessor.
Presented in Frost Blue, this naturally aspirated 5.0 litre V8 petrol example of the X351 with a six-speed gearbox and rear wheel drive can briskly reach 60mph in just 5.4 seconds and 155mph. Boasting just 61,066 miles from new, this car is ULEZ compliant with a low tax bracket. The interior is Parchment leather with contrast piping and blue leather wrapped dashboard. The car has just two former keepers, a full documented Jaguar service history from new and is sitting on 20-inch alloy wheels, other options include panoramic glass roof, Xenon headlamps with LED signature lighting, double-glazed acoustic glass, chrome grille and window surrounds, power-folding heated side mirrors and of course front and rear parking sensors. Inside the cabin is heated and ventilated front and rear seats with memory function, dual-zone automatic climate control, electric rear window blind and manual side blinds, leather and wood multifunction steering wheel (heated), Meridian 600W premium sound system, rear seat entertainment package, keyless entry and push-button start.
The car is full UK specification, MPH odometer face, UK satellite navigation, UK spectrum radio and full-size number plate plinths. A Castle Bromwich-built right hand drive with standard UK insurance classification and no import uplift. The car has been prepared to a very high standard, including suspension, brakes, engine, gearbox, steering, and electrics fully inspected. The bodywork has been treated with a four-stage process and ceramic sealant with the interior deep-cleaned and leather fed with hide food. A wonderful example of a luxury Jaguar, the last of the XJ which is even more important in Jaguars history knowing their proposed plans to go all electric. Consigned by Dominic Lake
