According to its factory Data Card, this 1990 Mercedes-Benz 300 TE was ordered through Mercedes-Benz's Munich branch finished in Blue Black Metallic over a Black cloth interior. Factory equipment includes a four-speed automatic transmission, air conditioning, heat-insulating glass, headlamp wipers and washers, trailer coupling, 15-hole light-alloy wheels, rear loudspeakers, and deletion of the model designation on the tailgate.
Per the accompanying CarVX Report, the car was first registered in Japan in December 1995. At some point during its life in Japan, the wagon was fitted with a period AMG-style body kit comprising revised front and rear bumpers and side skirts, giving the estate a more assertive visual presence. Further enhancing its exterior presentation, the car has been updated with the later facelift-style hood incorporating the integrated grille and headlamp design, giving the vehicle a more contemporary W124 appearance while retaining its earlier chassis identity.
It rides on 18-inch OZ Racing Opera II wheels and is equipped with an aftermarket exhaust system. The interior has been upgraded with Recaro LX front seats in black leather and Sportline rear seats trimmed in matching black leather. Additional equipment includes an AddZest HDD navigation unit and a Pioneer Carrozzeria head unit with remote control.
A sticker affixed to the distributor cover references "Special Cars," described as a "Mercedes-Benz W124 Modified Special one stop shopping auto fashion factory" in Yokohama, suggesting the source of at least some of the modifications fitted to the vehicle.
The CarVX Report notes an odometer discrepancy recorded between Japanese inspections in December 2008 and December 2010, during which the mileage is shown to have decreased from 132,200 kilometers to 74,400 kilometers. The vehicle was subsequently deregistered in April 2013. It was later sold in March 2026 and imported to the United States, where it entered The Patina Collective. Today it remains a distinctive example of the W124 Estate, this 300 TE combines Mercedes-Benz durability with Japanese-market customization and AMG-inspired period styling, resulting in a uniquely configured estate with strong visual presence and enthusiast appeal.
