Delivered new to Japan during the final year of S124 production, this 1995 Mercedes-Benz E36 AMG Touring represents one of the most desirable and elusive variants of the venerable S124 platform. Finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic over a Black leather interior, it combines the practicality of Mercedes-Benz's renowned touring with the exclusivity and performance of a period pre-merger AMG conversion.

Factory-equipped with an impressive array of options, the touring was specified with electrically adjustable heated Sportline seats, a leather-trimmed Sportline steering wheel, cruise control, air conditioning, a power sliding sunroof, rear-facing third-row jump seat, burl walnut wood trim, active bass speaker system, and the Automatic Slip Differential (ASD). Additional features include headlamp washers, an outside temperature display, illuminated vanity mirrors, and heat-insulating glass throughout.

Following delivery, the car was upgraded by AMG, transforming it into a rare E36 AMG Touring. The conversion included AMG's signature aerodynamic styling package-a design that period literature proudly noted was engineered not only to sharpen the car's appearance but also to reduce lift at speed. Additionally, the car is equipped with a set of 17-inch AMG Aero I Sport multi-piece wheels and a 280 km/h AMG speedometer. Beneath the sculpted bodywork lies AMG's enlarged 3.6-liter version of the M104 inline-six mated, which period AMG literature described as "superb performance typical of an AMG Mercedes." The engine retains the desirable enlarged intake plenum cast with "3.6" designation, while the block carries the correct AMG stamping, "AMG 36 2106." Supporting documentation further records the car as an E36 AMG with a 3,600 cc engine in its CarVX Report and later German registration documents.

The accompanying CarVX records a collision on 15 May 2018, which was subsequently repaired and notes that the airbags were "OK." It also records an odometer discrepancy, noting that mileage was recorded as having decreased from 326,000 kilometers to 12,283 kilometers between 27 May 2016 and 15 May 2018.

Exported from Japan to Germany before being imported to the United States in 2020, the touring is accompanied by records documenting significant mechanical work completed in 2020 and 2021. Service records show a transmission rebuild, repair of the engine control unit and ASD system following diagnosis of a damaged crankshaft position sensor wiring harness, replacement of the rear brake calipers, discs, pads, and brake hoses, installation of new rear axle boots, differential pinion seal, engine oil change, valve cover gasket replacement. The car subsequently entered The Patina Collective collection in 2023.
