Over the weekend, today and tomorrow massive work is done in Essen, Germany to get ready for this week's Techno Classica. Traditionally the focussing point of the show is Hall 6 where most internationally operating dealers present their latest findings. We will be present there as from tomorrow, yet we heard already about several very interesting cars. Post-war highlight is the barnfind presented by Christophe Pund - La Galerie des Pamiers: a 1950 Simca 8 alloy bodied Barchetta - chassis number "N0. Serie 14.50.63" - which participated in the 1951 Le Mans. In the short time given we haven't been able to find period photos of the car. A short search makes us believe this could be the non finishing 'Simca-Huit' ( starting number 45), team Roger Caron - André Guillard. Any additional information is most welcome. I am sure when visiting Essen as from Wednesday a lot more will be known about the car.
Update: Tobias Wenzel was quite right, it isn't Roger Carson's car, but Mr Deblon's with starting number 74. At Essen we found this (click). It seems Mr Deblon and Mr Daguet registered for the race, but didn't participate.
