Amazingly unrestored Porsche 356 Speedster

People go to great length and massive expenses to restore original 356s. And especially when you are lucky enough to find a Speedster. Yet life can be so much more simple. Just find a car which doesn't need any restoration, has been wel kept and never resprayed to keep the pure appearance of a true original. We stumbled over an example like that in Germany last week. It is a car that came from the Porsche dealership Van Wijk (what's in a name, they are in the VW business only nowadays...) in Santa Barbara, California. Another nice detail at the tail is the club badge of  'Los Viajeros'- California. One would expect that it is a local car club, but we think we found it's a club for serious horse riding afficionados. Well one thing is sure, the owner of this car was a most serious guy.

Back to the car, it's  a condition you will rarely ever see on a car of this age. The old paint is thin, bleached, faded and polished away in various places giving room to underlying older yellow paint? Or is this the yellowish factory ground paint? Anyway the overall appearance has an egshell glow that is not to be repeated with new paint and then check the unspoilt interior. There's only one minor set-back, possibly the only part which needs a little retouching perhaps... the price indication (click)  of this probably purest of all 356 Speedsters...
