Back to back: Lele or Dino?

Coys is ready to hammer down an eclectic mix of motors at Fontwell House in Sussex on Friday. We pick out two favourites: both early 1970s 2+2 thoroughbreds; both from Italy; both red; both styled by Giugiaro while under the Bertone flag and both named after family members!

First of them is a lovely Iso Lele. Just 285 were made, and with the Ford V8 (351 cubic inches) and ZF manual five-box under its square nose this is one of only 20 built Sport-variants. The car is said to have covered no more then 35,000 miles and certainly looks tempting. Most certainly an underrated car? That is not to be said about the other Bertone baby: a Fiat Dino Coupe. It uses of course Ferrari’s famous all-aluminium two-litre V6 rather than Ford’s chunky Cleveland V8, but the power house is once again mated to a manual five-speeder. The Dino that Coys has on offer is also a very early car, wearing chassis number 05, - a big pro at meetings. The seller states that the engine was replaced in 2010, since when it has covered only around 8,500 kms.

Now – we could make up our minds without looking at the pictures but which one do you prefer?
