Established in 1920, Giannini have been selling tuned and customized Fiats on a commercial scale since 1963, the 1972 Giannini programme embracing special 500s, 127s and 128s: the fiercest Giannini version of this last offered 106mph and 82bhp. Alongside these have been some more original Giannini car creations. In 1963 there was a 600-based sports coupé with 850cc 52bhp engine, replaced in 1965 by a Vignale-bodied 930cc 850 derivative. In the same year Giannini devised a 698cc flat-4 from two-stroked 500 blocks and Giannini fitted it to a modified 500 berlina. The 1967 Giannini cars ranged from an experimental electric conversion of the 500 to a formidable power plant on 850s in the shape of a small alloy V8 offered in 985cc and 1.595cc sizes, the latter Giannini developing 170bhp. None of these Giannini cars reached production and a year later Giannini were listing a 994cc 104bhp dohc in-line four of Abarth type. In 1972 there was the Giannini Sirio, a 652cc, 500-based fiberglass sports cabriolet capable of 99mph.
