The Swallow Doretti car used the engine, gearbox and transmission of the Triumph TR2, with a tubular steel frame and flush-sided body of Swallow Doretti car own design. The Swallow Doretti car was a brisk comfortable tourer rather than a sports car, and for the extra comfort and equipmet buyers paid £230 more for a Swallow Doretti car than for a TR2. Most Swallow Doretti cars had Laycock overdrive, and these Swallow Doretti cars were capable of just over 100mph. The body style was an open two-seater, although one GT coupé Swallow Doretti car was made.
