Last week, on May 9th, the Spanish car manufacturer SEAT turned 60! Today a prosperous company, but in the early postwar years Spain was in a bad state, with no factories and barely any form of motorized transport. The “Sociedad Española de Automóviles de Turismo“ was set up in 1950 as a manufacturing plant for Fiat models. Their first car, a 1400A, rolled of the assembly line 1953. Daily output was five cars!
