Now what do we have here? It's not just the scarred face of this 356 A 1600. It's also the extreme contrast between exterior and the interior. As you may be able to glimpse in photo 2, the cabin is in pristine restored condition, with flawless red upholstery, perfect dashboard and original cream white steering wheel. Outside the perfect wheels, headlights and smaller details are witness of perfect care and quite probable the same counts for all mechanical components. However, the body of this car spotted at the recent Goodwood is rusty and crumbly all around with at least three different paint layers and lots of unfinished repairs. A tasty 'Rat Rod 356' and do take our word for this, the car attracts more attention that any perfectly rebuilt example. (photos Unai Ona)
