Fat cars are everywhere

It’s World Obesity Day today (no joke, click here), which made us think once again about how much cars have grown in the last decade or two. Car obesity is getting worse every day, it seems. Some good examples can be seen above, or how about the overview here, with some facts and figures (click)?

Oh, yes the designers will tell you there is no stopping to this, as they have to comply to so many safety regulations now. The added airbags and crumple zones hidden everywhere eat up space, while demand for more spacious interiors increases at the same time. But do we really want this?
