If you like model cars as much as we do, we advise you to have a look at the catalogue of Classic Motorcar Auctions. This coming Friday and Saturday they will have a large auction of automobilia. On the Saturday there will be original automotive literature, porcelain signs and rare license plates, but the Friday will have many highly collectable die-cast models such as numerous Dinky Toys Mint in Box (lotnr. 230c), but what we liked most are the Tootsietoys from the 1950s (lotnr. 234c including a 1950 Fire Chief Car; Pontiac Sedan and a 1955 Thunderbird). Also several Tootsies from the 1940s (lotnr. 234) with Buick, Ford, Chrysler, and a Woody Station Wagon. By the way, who can tell where the name ‘Tootsietoys’ comes from?
