Ford carriers to transport your classic anywhere

Summer is officially here now, and you might be looking for a suitable transporter to carry your cherished four-wheeler to that event not too close by home this season. Then you may well like to know that a multitude of them is coming under the hammer this week. This Saturday to be precise. All the commercials or carriers seen above are Ford models built just after the War and come from the Den Hartogh Ford collection that Bonhams is selling off on the 23rd.

They are a 1946 Ford Panel Delivery Van, a 1947 Ford Stake Bed Truck, a 1945 Ford Closed Cab Flat Bed Truck, a 1946 Ford Fire Truck by Kronenburg, a 1946 Ford 1½-Ton Tractor Trailer, a 1946 Ford One Ton Pick Up Truck, a 1947 Ford Platform Truck, a 1949 Ford Pick Up and last but not least a 1946 Ford Hearse

From one of the auctioneers sales blurbs: “Not surprisingly given the business background of shipping and logistics, as well as his strong interest in the Ford marque, Piet Den Hartogh amassed a number of the post war commercials and seems to have had a particular leaning towards the robust post war series of vehicles.” Several of them were originally sold to Holland and spent much of their working life there. Other were imported from the US or Canada. Remarkably, judging from the descriptions, it seems that many of these cars come with little history while several have been in the collection for over three decades.
