Friday Lady - Name that place (1)

Chances are there you are snowed in severely when enjoying a winter sports holiday in Germany/Switzerland/Austria/Italy/Slovenia at the moment. This as parts of these countries have been hit by harsh weather conditions, with lots and lots of snow causing disruptions everywhere and houses and hotels buried under thick blankets of snow.

It made us think of a funny little game we played on these pages before. It’s called: name that place. We’ve used historical photographs of Friday Ladies using their classics in snowy conditions, mostly in vintage skiing resorts.

To start with a simple one, we’ve used a well-known shot of a well-known lady on a well-known location. Hey, we haven't even erased the hotel's name, so this one really should be recognizable. Do you know?

ok, I recognize Brigitte Bardot, but sorry, the year cannot be 1956, because the production of the Lancia Flaminia started in 1957. In 1955 and 1956 only two prototypes of the Flaminia were produced, based on the previous Aurelia chassis, coachwork made by Pininfarina, named Flaminia Florida, a different design compared to the picture shown here.

Yes, it's the Miramonte Hotel in Cortina d'Ampezzo, scene of the 1956 Olympic Winter Games. But how can the previous posters have missed that the friday lady is no one else than Brigitte Bardot?
