Alexandra Hunter tells us that after both her parents passed away in the same year, she decided to do something positive and move forward, so she started a wedding car company, Vintage Road Classics Ltd. The first car she acquired was an Alvis similar to the one her parents had owned in the 1960s. Theirs was a Tickford-bodied TA14 dhc, whereas Alexandra now has a 1948 Mulliner-bodied saloon. The Alvis was in worse condition than at first appeared, with quite a lot of rot in the wooden frame and the interior will have to be reupholstered entirely. The body itself is solid, but many hours will have to be spent on it, removing the old grey paint and repainting in the chosen color scheme of dark blue and cream. Alexandra still is uncertain whether she will tackle the very tedious but possibly rewarding job of coach-painting it herself. The Alvis is already booked for a wedding in April 2013 and Alexandra promised the lucky couple to be chauffeuring the Alvis herself, so it is going to be something to really look forward to. We think your parents would have approved, Alexandra!
