From Nostradamus to Einstein: there are always people trying to foresee what lies ahead. And while we mostly reminisce the past here, there’s no denial that the motoring industry is an industry of looking ahead. It has brought us some great visionary ideas of how the world would look like in another few decades. They still do it to this day, with not a single self respecting car designer sketching designs for 2015 – their working field is always quite a few years ahead of ours.
It makes you wonder what lies ahead for our world. We may describe a pastime here, but the classic car scene is also moving ahead. To tackle the precarious field of fortune telling, Renault’s Avantime – dubbed the ultimate ‘future classic’ for at least a decade now – is still cheaper than chips. Pricing then - who would ever have believed that an Aston Martin DB5 – according to a source dubbed the ‘Dow Jones for Classic Cars’ – would have made a 3357% price increase in 20 years time? Don't say you did, 'cause you would have barns full of them now. Oh, speaking about barns - don't think that all good barn finds have now dried up either, as the amount of amazing discoveries has never been higher than in 2014.
No, we’d rather stay away from crystal gazing, clairvoyancy and other prophecies – as long as you enjoy old cars we will be writing about them here. Feel free to tell us if you think we're on the right track - or not. For now: all the best for 2015!
