A Hermann Lang Veritas Mystery? (upd.:Adolf Brudes with Borgward RS55)

Paul Creed sends a very interesting set of photos of a car and driver. Both unidentified. The photos were taken of glass negatives recently acquired by Paul. His first thought is that the driver shown is Hermann Lang (here showing how to do the Nurburgring). The car possibly a 1955 Borgward or Veritas prototype.
