One of or New Year’s resolutions was to clear out all our old, scratched and unwanted LP’s to make more room for CD’s and Car books. But when we started pruning we hit upon this lovely old LP of Harry Mortimer conducting the famous Morris Motors Concert Band. The ensemble was founded in 1924 and -according to the blurb on the back of the LP- was one of the leading and internationally recognized orchestras. All members worked in Morris’ Cowley factory near Oxford. There’s no date on the record, but we think it was released in the 1960s. That’s one record we will keep!
