Members Only

The legendary Steering Wheel Club may have long gone from their original central London address, but fortunately there are still some Gentlemen Clubs around offering some facilities and fun to their members. The Guild of Motoring Writers takes care of motoring journalists, while Brookland’s BTM does so for their own Trust Members. Over 10,000 of them, they say. Anyone can join and their agenda is full of things interesting. Talks about plains trains and automobiles, tours to events in the UK and on the continent, photography courses and family activities on the old Brooklands track site plus the annual black tie dinner with President Sir Stirling Moss.

Oh – and last but not least, there is a yearly Autojumble. In fact this year’s Brooklands RetroJumble took place last Sunday, combining car, motorcycle and aero jumble stalls with the Museum’s own collection plus a classic car show. It’s open to anyone with a classic vehicle although Trust Members do have some privileges. It’s a Gentlemen’s Club, remember.
