1957 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster - early consignments for Worldwide Auctioneers’ Auburn Spring Enthusiast Auction

Press release

Early consignments for Worldwide Auctioneers’ Auburn Spring Enthusiast Auction include a first-year 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster from the all no-reserve Dane Miller Estate Collection.

Auburn, Indiana, January 2026. Consignments are rolling in for Worldwide’s Auburn Spring sale at home in Indiana, with an exceptional 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster confirmed as one of the highlights of the annual Enthusiast Auction. Offered from the all no-reserve Dane Miller Estate Collection, the car is a first-year example of one of the most desirable post-war era automobiles ever built, with numbers-matching engine, chassis and body, offered publicly for the first time in 26 years.

Scheduled for April 24–25 at Worldwide’s spectacular Auburn, Indiana headquarters in the birthplace of America’s collector car auction industry and original “Classic Car Capital of the World”, the sale will again present enthusiasts and collectors with a substantial and carefully curated offering of great motorcars in a convenient, convivial and historic Midwest setting.

Regarded as the “godfather” of the medical orthopedic device industry, the late Dane Miller, founder of Biomet, was a visionary entrepreneur whose disciplined leadership and foresight helped grow the company into a global powerhouse in orthopedic medical technology, ultimately merging with Zimmer to form Zimmer Biomet, one of the most influential medical device leaders in the world. “Those same principles also defined Miller’s committed approach to building an enviable personal car collection with appeal to enthusiasts across the board, and we’re delighted to be offering all 20 cars from the Dane Miller Estate Collection completely without reserve in Auburn,” said John Kruse, Principal and Auctioneer.

The Enthusiast Auction

The Enthusiast Auction will run from April 24–25 at Kruse Plaza, Worldwide’s state-of-the-art Auburn facility, whose dedicated on-site amenities and services are unparalleled in the marketplace. The event continues Worldwide’s tradition of presenting carefully curated offerings of significant motorcars in a welcoming and historic setting.
