Modern Technology or Stone Age engineering?

We always love it when classic cars are depicted in paintings, on walls and the like. This mural is situated at the entrance of the Cowley Shopping Centre in Oxford and depicts the history of the region. This part of the mural shows the influence of William Morris on car production in Cowley, but we were rather surprised to see a wedge-shaped Austin Princess as the ideal of modern technology. Indeed we had some driving experience with this model in the 1970s and they were great, comfortable cars. But today you never see them anymore. Are there no enthusiastic followers out there?
