Fog lights, spot lights, flood lights and all other possible auxiliary lights - this mighty Mercedes has them all, and more. The frame built to hold all that supplementary illumination equipment is an impressive piece of kit on its own, with room still for a few extra horns. We'll resist the temptation to make a quip about Christmas trees. Anyhow, just imagine this thing coming around a sharp corner in the opposite direction on a dark mountain pass!
We couldn’t quite figure out the whos, whens and, in particular, the whys concerning this intriguing shot but we wondered if the car could have been a promotional vehicle for a lights manufacturer? Marchal, Bosch, Carello, Cibié, perhaps? Or are these different lights from different manufacturers? Tell us if you know. The number plate also had us stumped. Is it German, or could it possibly be a special plate for special customs?
Last but not least, there seems to be more interesting vehicles parked next to it, giving us the idea that maybe the picture was taken outside a car customising shop. The white-walled car on the left may be something special, but how about the Perspex-canopied one behind that? Is it just a Messerschmitt... or something far more exotic?
