The plethora of automobiles that RM Sotheby’s is going to hammer down in Milano from November 25th to 27th has to be seen to be believed. The 800+ strong sale involves anything from basket case Bentleys to fully restored and certified Ferraris. All with no reserve, so chances of a bargain are present.
If a theme can be addresses to this Duemila Ruote sale it’s sports cars, with the emphasis on Italian machinery. Not easy to pick out favourites. Fiats, Lambos, Abarths, Innocentis, Ferraris, Maseratis, Alfas and an Etceterini every now and then almost make you dizzy. We picked out a quadruplet of Alfa-Romeo 6Cs as there are several of these majestic cars on offer. And they couldn’t be more varied. From a 2500 with standard factory body of which the complete rear is missing (top right; lot 514; estimate 5-10,000 euros), to a very original looking Freccia d’Oro (bottom right; lot 584; estimate 65- 75,000 euros). Our favourite could be the 2500 Sport Coupe Aerlux by Touring (top left; lot 575; estimate 80-90,000 euros). But its opposite seems very attractive too: a 2500 Barchetta with interesting light arrangement (bottom left; lot 623; estimate 30-35,000 euros).
Which is going to be the best buy? Oh – and if you do manage to grab that bargain: why not drive it home with this little Lancia gem… That surely has to fetch more then its 5- to 10,000 euros estimate?
