Italian jewels at Global Icons

Ferrari, Fiat, Lamborghini, Lancia, and Alfa Romeo: Italian classics never fail to inspire. They appear at almost every event, and we too find it impossible to resist their romantic lines and rich heritage. When we discovered Broad Arrow Auctions’ new concept – an online auction with cars located across multiple sites – we decided to share five of our favorite Italian automobiles from the catalogue. Five jewels, each embodying the very best of Italy in its own way.

1965 ASA 1000 GT Mark II Berlinetta

The ASA 1000 GT proves that Ferrari heritage does not always require twelve cylinders. Developed at Enzo Ferrari’s own initiative, with engineering by Giotto Bizzarrini, an engine by Gioacchino Colombo, and styling by a young Giorgetto Giugiaro, this compact GT was conceived as an answer to Porsche and Alfa Romeo. Fewer than 100 examples were built. This late “Mark II” example is largely complete and offers a unique basis for restoring a rare Italian jewel.

1972 Lamborghini Jarama 400 GT 2+2

The Lamborghini Jarama 400 GT from 1971 represents the final chapter of Lamborghini’s classic front-engined GT lineage. Only 177 examples were produced. This late car, number 124, was delivered new in France, displayed at the Paris Motor Show, and enjoyed long-term ownership on the Côte d’Azur. After a careful restoration it was returned to its original Oro Espada finish with Senape interior. With its Bertone design and 4.0-liter V12, the Jarama is a rare and refined grand tourer.

1961 Fiat-OSCA 1500 S Pininfarina Cabriolet

The Fiat 1500 S Pininfarina Cabriolet combines elegant lines with serious engineering thanks to its rare OSCA twin-cam engine developed by the Maserati brothers. Only a small portion of production received this potent 1.5-liter unit. This Belgian example, finished in white with a red-and-black interior, remains in original condition and runs nicely after recommissioning. Offered with a spare engine, gearbox, and parts, it is a unique opportunity to acquire a charming Italian roadster with sporting ambition.

1967 Fiat Dino Spider ex-Le Mans ‘Ecurie Fiat-Abarth France’

The Fiat Dino Spider is the result of a unique collaboration between Ferrari, Fiat, and Pininfarina. This 1967 example is truly exceptional: it is the only Fiat Dino ever to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In 1968, chassis 0598 completed 253 laps of the Circuit de la Sarthe. With its race history, original Le Mans documentation, and accompanying competition engine, this Dino occupies a singular place in motorsport history.

1965 Ferrari 275 GTS

No Italian selection would be complete without a Ferrari. And this Ferrari 275 GTS embodies Maranello’s classic V12 tradition in its most elegant form. Only around 200 examples were built. Chassis 07701, delivered new in Germany in 1965, boasts a fully documented history with exclusively German owners. With Classiche certification, matching numbers, and careful maintenance, this Pininfarina Spider combines timeless beauty with the iconic Colombo V12.
