Election Day: Phantom/Golden Series vs Mustang/Cutlass

Stressing the obvious, a poll published earlier this year found that Trump voters were most likely to choose pickup trucks, while electric car drivers are more likely to vote Democrat. But if something can be said about classic cars today, it may be that the two condemned candidates will have different views on them.

What do we know? We know that mister Trump likes his motors. He reportedly owns a string of them, among which a 1956 Rolls-Royce Phantom. He also launched his own car brand, back in 1988: the Trump Golden Series Limousine, or in the man’s own words ‘The most opulent stretch limousine made’. The world was not ready for it at the time, though, and just the sole built Cadillac based monstrosity survives, including its gold plated ashtrays and crystal decanters.

Over to Mrs Clinton. She may not exactly be a car woman, but her husband used to own a 1967 Ford Mustang, which she appears to enjoy sitting in on this photograph. The last car she supposedly drove was a humble 1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass, which is for sale when you are interested. With just 30,000 miles on the clock and the 1990 ‘Clinton for Governor’ sticker still on the rear screen it may be a future collector's item…
