Six Silver Arrows and a Blue Bolide

As of Saturday July 7, the Louwman Museum in The Netherlands has a new exposition of six unique Mercedes racing cars plus the famous blue transporter. These seven automobiles are the best of Mercedes racing history of the 1950s. Of course there is the 300SL, codename W 194, the oldest SL still in existence. There is the famous W 196 R formula I racing car, both in an ‘open’ and a ‘closed’ streamlined version. A particular favorite of us is the 300SLR ‘Uhlenhaut Coupé’ that, although it never participated in any race, is considered to be the first super sportscar. Anyway, we don’t need to tell you how great it is to see all these famous racing cars together. You just need to go and see for yourselves. The exhibition is on until September 2, 2018.
