Somewhere West of Timbuktu

Your post-war editor was on a hiking trip - yes on foot - and still the cars are in the way. On the the otherwise deserted sands west of Timbuktu - a great place to chill within 30 minutes from... Amsterdam - we found this  VW T1 bus in post flower-power beach bum style. On closer inspection (we spotted the bus from a mile) we found the hippie hide-out is a labour of love. A safe cabin for surfers stuff. With these soft summer days the beach may look deserted. But when the winds and weekend come the horizons are crowded. When you check the local webcam today there is a chance that you see one or more tallships heading for Amsterdam for this years' Sail event.
