Tell us about your Roadside Repairs

A few weeks ago PreWarCar asked for so-called bush mechanics, a roadside repair that helps you get back on the road after a breakdown. The article brought back a memory of the early seventies. Not really a roadside repair, but a club meeting where a driving test was held. One of the assignments was to change the rear wheel. Normally not a problem, but each time one of your feet touched the ground penalty points were given. Many contestants got lots of them, but the owner of this purple MG TD decided to crawl across the fenders, got the jack from under hood, crawled back to the fuel tank and by hanging on to the rear bumper succeeded in changing the wheel without touching the ground. Result: zero penalty points. No mean feat, even in an open TD!

Do you know of some 'real' roadside repairs? Do tell us about it!
