The British Gearbox Mystery (UPDATE II: Rover P4 or P3?)

Tony Noonan from the Blue Mountains in Australia owns this 1950’s all alloy gearbox that has been lying in his shed for many years. He has no clue as to what it is for, although he assumes it’s British. Judging from the position of the starter motor we think the gearbox is lying on its side, so we are looking at the right side of the ‘box. Click here for a larger photo. Can we help Tony in identifying this gearbox? Contact us!
