The first Diablo?!?

Bodied in Italy by Ghia, this 1956 Chrysler Dart prototype renamed one year later as Chrysler Diablo was a Virgil Exner design in every detail. The spectacular wind tunnel concept car - said to have a drag coefficient of 0,17 ! - was on show at Amelia Island last weekend. It was in particular the car's name that drew our attention as it is connected much more to the renowned Lamborghini series of much later date. When searching the web we find that Chrysler transferred the name to Lamborghini during their ownership. Question is was the name Diablo there before Chrysler became involved or had the follow up of the Countach only a code name until Chrysler stepped in? Trivial knowledge: there was also an AC Diablo prototype in 1972.
