The ‘Nationale Oldtimerdag‘ (National Antique & Classic Car Day) in Lelystad, Holland has been as successful event for many years. This time the organizers have chosen for a new, and unique location against the background of the famous seventeenth century ‘Batavia’ merchant ship. Among the special themes that are expected to attract lots of attention this year is one we have never seen before: a presentation of many historic funeral cars that are owned by funeral parlours. Several nice ones are expected to show up, of course several Rolls Royces, including a 1962 Phantom V State Limousine, which was used during the funeral of Bobby Farrell (from Boney M); a Citroën Traction of which we have written before; a Renault Goélette that also starred in a movie and many more. But star of the show will no doubt be the Daimler Princess Vandenplas -shown above and here- which was used during the funeral of Princess Diana.
The Nationale Oldtimerdag Lelystad will be held this Sunday, June 17th.
