The Monte Carlo Ford Mystery (Upd. Ken Wharton)

We were given this picture of a British-built Ford V8 Pilot. Apart from the fact that it participated in the Monte Carlo Rally, we have no further information. We think the photo was taken somewhere along the route, probably in France -note the two Citroëns in the background- and judging by the dent in the left fender the going had already been tough. But that’s all we know, folks! Can you tell us who teamed-up in this Pilot and perhaps when and where?
