Mystery motors appear everywhere - on the streets, in magazines, in books and on websites like this. But an official manual as it is being published by a motor manufacturer is probably one of the last placed to expect them. Still then, Erik van Ingen Schenau, proves differently as he comes up with an intriguing issue. Being a Renault R16 enthusiast he has always wondered about some of the drawings in the oldest manuals of the French car.
Contrary to existing cars the model shown here comes with round headlights a la R6, but then with indicators positioned much more to the centre of the car's front. Even the surviving prototype doesn't have these light arrangements. As a matter of fact noone has been able to show him anything from the modelling or pre-production stage with these specific features yet. Can you help? Let us know and make his day!
