Tough to crack. Puzzle #55

Today we show you a not so very difficult postwar puzzle... but who knows! The car appears to be undergoing a not very professional restoration, something not very common with this kind of car. This automaker was founded in the early postwar days, and its principal occupation was building lorries and buses, some of them with very modern features by those days. The "author" of this interesting design was a well experienced engineer who had worked with Alfa Romeo earlier. The other "Italian connection" of the car is its body, made by a very well known Italian coachbuilder. The car is fast and made in very modest numbers. After this sporting vehicle the manufacturer stopped producing cars alltogether. Maybe a bit too many hints, but let's see who is best and deserves the PostWarClassic T-shirt. Put your most precise answer in the comment box below and be sure not to use more than 100 words.  Source of the photo and outcome of the quiz will be revealed next Saturday.
