Why use the DB5 when you have a good Alvis?

The Brits have always been famous for their "traditional" way of life and their love for the history of old things.  This is about one of this traditional persons, a man who used to drive an old 1948 Alvis TA14 cabriolet for many years, despite having a beautiful Aston Martin DB5 in his garage. The old photos were taken in the mid 70s, and the Aston was still near to new because of the few kilometres registered in its odometer.

The reason given by the owner was that the old Alvis had a more confortable suspension and seats, and specially the magnificient heating of this old car. The Alvis was still in daily use in the 70s, and even was driven regularly in the snow on its way to skiing pistes  (perhaps because of this the car was already rusty in those ages). The DB7 remained garaged and used only in occasional and short drives...so perhaps today could be an amazing barn find! In the old photos you can see the regular condition of both cars: The Alvis outside and in use, and the Aston Martin inside the quiet garage.
