Young timers for ever young?

We received these photos from our travelling photo-reporter Karel Vermeer after he visited last weekend the only 'young timer event' of the Netherlands. Interestingly on his first photo no youngtimer is in sight. We think the Alfa Romeo Duetto in the foreground is way too classic for the phrase Youngtimer. And the TVR (Chimeera) just a touch to new. Which brings us to the hard to define rules for the Youngtimer segment. When entering a venue active in this field we tend to think with slightly biased look "ah... a used car lot..." Still there are a few interesting cars. The Saab Sonnett (classic in our view), the Ford Escort Mexico (real deal or not?). No, the two best candidates in our view are the nicely styled Volkswagen SP2 Sports Coupe from Brazil. And the Talbot Saloon that you most probably never ever again will see in your lifetime (unless you're the owner).
