Morris Minor Series II Pick-Up, first registered 15th Jan 1954. Exported from new to Australia, returned to the UK in 2014. Swansea documentation registering its return is with the car.
Restored in the UK during 2014, plenty of bills outlining the restoration, floors, sills, rear wheel arches, rear tail gate cross member. Full length of chassis both sides and spring hangers all excellent and solid. Inner front wings and engine bay all original and solid. Doors, bonnet, pick up cab, bulkhead all solid and original.
The restoration intentionally left the patinated bodywork panels (included drivers side door dent) that have been roasted by the Australian sun. I have also left the bodywork to show off the now quite unique originality and patination. Up to you, you could make it all shiny again, but there is not another like this...
The engine and gearbox were replaced with a fully restored 1275cc unit which although not too rapid makes it very driveable and happy in modern traffic. The original 803cc engine and gearbox come with the car (they will need restoring before use). During the restoration a set of indicators were fitted which are not original.
The PickUp has been driven regularly for the last four years and runs well. I am only parting with the vehicle as garage space is needed for newly bought Morris Minor van.
*Just added photo of the pick up with the clear laquer that was applied just before I bought it...*
